The .45 Special, also known as Cowboy .45 Special is a round optimized for use with lighter loads in .45 Colt caliber revolvers for cowboy action shooting. The Cowboy .45 Special solves the issue seen in some .45 Colt loads where the cases can split. This case was developed by Starline Brass and originally was designed to be used in single action revolvers chambered in .45 ACP.
