6.5 mm Grendel

The 6.5mm Grendel cartridge was a joint design between competitive shooters and Lapua Ballistics to produce a low-recoil, high-precision rifle cartridge with the AR-15 platform for medium to long range. The cartridge was first shown in May of 2003 at the Blackwater training facility in North Carolina where it remained supersonic at 1200 yards and out shot 7.62×51 NATO with half of the felt recoil. Since the introduction, 6.5 Grendel has expanded to multiple different platforms from bolt action rifles to Kalashnikov designs.
