5.45 x 39

The 5.45×39 Cartridge was introduced in 1974 by the Soviet Union for use with the new AK-74. This cartridge began to supplement then replace the 7.62×39 cartridge in Soviet and Warsaw Pact service. 5.45×39 Was not intended for civilian use and no civilian weapons were created in this chambering, after the ammo became available for sale to civilians, several arms manufacturers began to produce semi-automatic AK-74 variants.
