Description

Hornady’s V-Max Projectile delivers tack driving accuracy at long range and expands dynamically upon impact. The flat trajectory of the 17 HMR combined with the V-Max projectile makes it one of the most accurate rimfire cartridges ever made. Hornady 17 HMR is packaged in boxes of 50 Rounds, sleeves of 500 Rounds or Cases of 2000 Rounds.

The Hornady V-Max features a polymer tip for increased accuracy.

I guess you would expect it from the company that created .17 but of the four loads I have tried, this is the most consistent and very flat at 200 yards. Heavier grain is much less consistent. Other brands not as good. Sticking with this for the long shots.

I have used this ammo for years. I have never had a misfire with any of the Hornady 17 HMR ammo. I just purchased a savage A17. It has been getting .25 inch groups regularly at 50 yards. I have only shot it in the back yard and a quick squirrelhunt. I hope to get to the range next week and stretch it out to 200 - 400 yards and see how the BSA sweet 17 performs with this ammo. All in all I prefer this ammo to the other brands that I have tried. I have shot a squirrel thru the ribs with it, in my A17, and a crow. Both shot at 30 yards. If you are hunting squirrels to eat make neck and head shots. Massive exit wound with excessive meat damage. The crows wing, on exit wound side, was almost completely detached. Very accurate and impressive round for varmint and nuisance animals.
